Participant

A person who takes part in or becomes involved in a particular activity (1). When specifically referring to road traffic crashes, it is a person involved in a road traffic collision, no matter which road user type they are or the outcome of the crash. Bystanders or witnesses are generally not considered as participants of road traffic crashes.
