Validation
The validation of a system, method, or model is the process of determining that the results of a system, method, or model are, to a certain extent, accurate with regards to its intended use.
The application of the concept of “validation” to computational models can be defined as the process of determining the degree to which a model is able to represent the real world in the context of its intended use. The model response is compared to a ground-truth. The model’s prediction capabilities are tested (1).
