The IMPROVA project officially began with a dynamic three-day event held from June 3-5, 2024, at the Applus+ IDIADA headquarters in Spain. This gathering aimed to strengthen bonds and align efforts among the consortium members as we embark on this important journey.
IMPROVA aspires to achieve a “Vision Beyond Zero,” focusing on preventing life-altering injuries related to road traffic accidents and maintaining high standards of quality of life for road users over the long term. Our focus is on understanding and quantifying the long-term consequences (LTC) associated with these accidents.
Project Duration and Funding
IMPROVA is a 48-month project funded by the Horizon Europe Programme. Its specific focus is on advancing the art and practice of road safety. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to make significant advancements in road safety and inclusivity.
Tools and Methods
To achieve our goals, we employ advanced tools such as virtual testing (VT) and Human Body Models (HBM) to evaluate the risk of LTC for all road users involved in road accidents. These tools allow us to simulate and study the impact of various crash scenarios in a controlled, virtual environment.
Project Consortium
Coordinated by Applus+ IDIADA, IMPROVA brings together a robust international consortium of 13 partners, supported by an Advisory Board and a Medical and Psychological Experts Panel. This panel comprises over 15 members with diverse insights from research, industry, and policymaking sectors.
Kick-off Meeting Highlights
The kick-off meeting featured representatives from all project partners and presented rich and insightful discussions. Detailed preparations were made for the upcoming work, and innovation workshops were conducted to gather valuable knowledge from all attendees. These activities are crucial for improving road safety and achieving our project objectives.
We are excited about the collaborative journey ahead and look forward to making meaningful contributions to road safety. To stay up to date, you can follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter and subscribe to our newsletter for the latest information on the IMPROVA project.
